Easy 4 Step Vinyl Installation

We ship all custom vinyl address numbers in one piece, ready to install. We make it easy for you, because you only have one chance to install vinyl correctly. You can't peel it back up and start over. Avoid a costly mistake and order with confidence from Philly Transom! Our competitors send overly complicated address numbers in different pieces. Many steps are required to line them up - making for a tedious task. We also sell an installation kit and pocket guide to ensure your success.

Step #1

Clean the window thoroughly with a soap & water mixture and paper towel. Dry thoroughly. This will ensure that no dirt or debris gets trapped behind the vinyl during application.

Step #2

Use the tape measure to determine your center point and make a vertical mark. Use the level and ruler to establish a horizontal baseline with the crayon. The bottom of the transom number sheet will rest on this line.

Firmly hinge the transom numbers
so the two vertical center points line up and the straight edge bottom of the transom sheet rests directly on the base line you made.

Step #3

Have the squeegee close at hand. With the transom sheet lifted, and still hinged, peel off the backing entirely and drop it to the ground. While keeping it lifted, grab the squeegee. Slowly lower the hinged transom numbers so they began to touch the glass, just below the hinge.

Slowly work your way down, using the squeegee to smooth the numbers down. Continue until all of the transfer tape is down on the window. Then use the squeegee to gently smooth over the numbers from several angles.

Step #4

Then slowly begin peeling the transfer tape off, starting in the upper right corner and working your way across at an angle.

You may see some bubbles in the vinyl. This is normal. Use a safety pin to pierce them, ever so gently. Vinyl is self healing, so it won’t effect the durability. Don’t worry about the very small bubbles. Over the next several days, the vinyl will suck in to the window and the bubbles will disappear. This happens even more quickly when it is cold out.
